These are eight-hour courses in which a particular area is worked on in depth. An immersive practice that turns the professional into an expert on a certain treatment, such as lip filler, to mention just one of the monographs taught at EIMEC. “Normally, when we talk about monographs, we talk about a certain technique in a specific region. It can be, for example, a lip monographic,” says Dr. Paula Pifarre, academic coordinator of the institution. It is a clinical practice in which only lips of different types and characteristics will be seen, which will allow the professional to approach lip treatment in a comprehensive manner.
With an eminently practical approach, the course is developed in depth while working with real patients, always under the supervision of the teacher. As with each of Eimec’s training courses, it is a One to One practice of all the techniques that exist, in this specific case, lip filler.
Monographic course on dark circles under the eyes. Practical course given at EIMEC.
It can be a lip intensive, a dark circles intensive or a perioral rejuvenation monographic. Eimec’s academic offer focuses on this triad, although the most requested monographs, the ones that receive the most consultations and registrations are those on lips and dark circles under the eyes, in that order. “These are the two most in demand,” confirms Pifarré. But there is also the immersive practice of the perioral area, which is of great interest, above all, to dentists. In addition, if we are talking about a professional who is going to treat the smile from the dentist’s perspective, from the teeth, the bite and in conjunction with other treatments such as dental implants, for example, it is a very interesting complement.”
Between theory, which occupies a small percentage of the course, and practice, which takes up all the rest. This is how the academic day of each of the monographs is distributed, and they are spread out over the day. Normally,” Pifarré reinforces, “there is 10% theory. But this theory also depends a little on the level of the students. That is to say, when they are students who have a lot of expertise or, for example, are students who have already trained at EIMEC and have done some other type of specialization with us, then there is practically no theory and we go directly to practice”. And, in fact, as the academic coordinator explains, there are not 24 but 8 hours. “A total of 8 intensive hours of a particular technique, where the professional leaves with the skills to perform that treatment”. The courses, like all at EIMEC, run from 10 am to 2 pm. “We take a break for lunch and rest, and then we continue until the end of the day,” Pifarré summarizes. It’s intense but, with the skills, knowledge and abilities, learning is assured.
